Dear Alumnae

Welcome to our new Alumnae monthly update.  

We believe that our valued Alumnae are a vital part of our vibrant AHS community and already each year, our kind Alumnae return to school to give career insights and university advice to our pupils.

Moving forward we hope to build a calendar of Alumnae reunions, networking events and opportunities to visit school and keep in touch.  Whether you were one of our first AHS students at our new site in 1959, a recent leaver or somewhere in between, we would love to connect with you.

Our aims are to:

• Promote networking
• Offer advice and help with careers
• Organise events & facilitate reunions
• Provide a supportive network
• Support the School
• Facilitate communication via the Alumnae Newsletter, social media and email

If you would like to join the AHS Alumnae database, please email my PA, Hilary Osgerby, at secretary@ahs.bucks.sch.uk.  Please provide her with your name, address, preferred email address, mobile telephone number and the year that you left AHS.  Please do forward this letter to other Alumnae who might not have yet joined us.  Alumnae will receive an annual newsletter, monthly updates, and reunion invitations to events, fundraising and other School initiatives and developments.

If you have something you would like to share about your time at AHS and/or life after our School, including updates to be included in the Alumnae newsletter, please contact us via my PA, Hilary, at secretary@ahs.bucks.sch.uk.  If you have met up with old school friends for a special anniversary reunion, or have news about yourself and/or other ‘old girls’, we’d be delighted to share it with the broader alumnae community.  Readers particularly enjoy seeing old (and current) pictures and hearing about their lives and careers since leaving AHS.  

Track down old friends:
Records are maintained by the School’s Development Office.  Please contact the AHS Development Office via my PA, Hilary, at secretary@ahs.bucks.sch.uk to track down former AHS students.  If they are in our database, the School will contact them and pass on your details.

Our first Alumnae Tea Party - Saturday 23rd September 2023

On Saturday 23rd September we were truly delighted to welcome around 65 AHS Alumnae to the School for our first tea party. It was a lovely event, and enjoyed by all; so very nice to see connections renewed and made.  We hope to welcome more Alumnae to our next gathering and will work with our community to make this accessible to as many of you as possible.  

Are you interested in joining the Alumnae Committee?  

We plan to establish  an active and enthusiastic committee of ‘old girls’ to run and maintain close contacts with the school, and so are looking for volunteers to bring new ideas and expertise to the mix. 

We plan to meet two or three times a year (with the AGM in September). However, most communication and activity will be conducted by email and phone.
