About Ms. Brisson
Welcome to my home base! I hope you can use this as a resource to access information about our classroom, what our day looks like, and my contact information. But first, let me tell you a little bit about myself!
This school year will be my tenth year as a teacher, and it certainly doesn't feel like it! After graduating with my Bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, I moved an hour south and began teaching in a small school district. A couple years into teaching, I decided to make a huge change and moved out to San Antonio. I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades throughout my four years with North East ISD. After COVID and virtual teaching, I decided once again to make a change, which landed me right at home in Alamo Heights. Cambridge has been home to me for the past three years, and I can't wait to see what year four has in store!
My purpose for teaching is to help my students develop in their reading, writing and communication abilities, while also building upon their skills as a citizen. The reason why I teach is because I feel the world we live in could use more empathy, which we gain through perspective. By teaching my students to love reading, they can use their reading abilities to make their own connections and gain new perspectives in an increasingly independent capacity. This, I hope, will help to create a more empathetic future. Thank you for trusting me with your student(s), and I look forward to helping them grow!
