The Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational and Progressive Association) is an international organization founded in 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia. Although originally founded to help the newly arriving Greek immigrants learn English and assimilate into the overall community, it has since expanded its mission. AHEPA, along with it's women's affiliate organization, the Daughters of Penelope, contributes their efforts and financial resources to many worthwhile causes including education, housing for the elderly, medical research, disaster relief, and the care of orphaned and underprivileged children. The Educational Fund was founded and incorporated in Georgia in 1986 as an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) public-charity corporation.
