Split lighting: a lighting technique that lights up half of a subject's face while leaving the other half in a shadow, essentially “splitting” the face
3/4 Posing: three-quarters pose, you will be angled away from the camera so that only three-quarters of your body is visible and only 2 eyes and 1 ear is visible to the camera
Butterfly lighting: key light is placed above and pointing down on the subject's face. This creates a dramatic shadow under the nose and chin that looks like a butterfly
Male/Female Posing: Placement of the hands/head/shoulders to convey a visual message
Rembrandt lighting: Single light source placed on a 45 degree angle offset from the subject, that causes and upside down light "triangle" on the opposite side of the nose
