Native American Ceramic Artist
My name is Aiden Tippeconnie and I am a ceramic artist currently practicing in Arizona.
I was born in New Mexico and from a young age I have been immersed in the world of art for as long as I can remember, with a lifelong passion for creative expression and exploration. From my earliest memories, I've been wielding brushes, pencils, and clay, exploring my artistic instincts and honing my skills. Art has been an integral part of my life's journey, a constant thread that has woven its way through my formative years and continues to be a driving force in my artistic endeavors.
I have received formal artistic training through education, classes, and self-directed learning. My training began with my first art based class in middle school and has encompassed various mediums, including drawing and painting; up until the present where I have taken various higher level high school classes such as Fundamentals of Art, Sculpture and Ceramics I & II, Metal Sculpture and finally AP 3D Art. My training has not only developed my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the creative process and the power of artistic expression. I am grateful for my artistic training and remain committed to ongoing learning and artistic growth in my creative journey.
My artistic philosophy in wheel throwing revolves around the harmony between form and function. I believe that the wheel allows me to bring my creative visions to life while also considering the utilitarian aspect of my ceramic art. I strive to create functional pottery that is not only visually pleasing but also serves a purpose in everyday life. I also believe in the importance of continuous learning and growth. I am committed to honing my skills through ongoing education, experimentation, and pushing the boundaries of my artistic practice. I believe that the journey of wheel throwing is an ongoing process of learning, evolving, and discovering new possibilities.
I am deeply motivated by the idea of infusing beauty and art into the everyday moments of people's lives through my ceramic creations. I believe that functional art, such as tactile and interactive pieces, can enhance our daily experiences and foster a deeper connection with the objects we use. Creating pieces that are not only visually appealing, but also serve a purpose in people's everyday lives, brings me great joy and fulfillment as an artist. Additionally, I am constantly driven to improve and perfect my skills, honing my craft through ongoing learning and growth, and pushing the boundaries of my artistic practice to create increasingly meaningful and impactful art.
