ELA (English and Language Arts): Continue long vowel identification especially long a as ai or ay, long e as ea, ee, ie, y or ey, long i as ie , y or igh and long o as oa, oe or ow; identify contractions with: is, have, are and not; use the verbs am, is, are, was and were correctly; review vowel sounds of y at the end of words and changing the y to an i when adding an ending; continue to use -s, -es, -ing, -ed, -er and -est endings; and double the final consonant if it follows a short vowel before adding -ed or -ing; identify opposites.
We will celebrate Dr. Seuss and “Read Across America” all month long, concluding on Mar. 31 dressing up as our favorite Seuss character.
