From the annually held Seoul Urban Agriculture International Conference between 2011 and 2020, where urban farmer-activists and organizations around the world come together to share their practices, the International Urban Farmers Network was born.

Six urban farmers from five different countries gathered not only to discuss the role and direction of urban agriculture but also to promote practical ways to instigate meaningful and long-term changes through urban agriculture in the era of climate crisis.

We have co-authored the 2021 Declaration of Urban Farmers with a vision of growing an international network of cooperation and solidarity for different social actors to integrate urban agriculture in the current landscape of the city for a greater inclusiveness and resilience, and most importantly, food justice for all.
