An OVERVIEW of our Institute

In this video, created with the help of one of our students, you can have a virtual tour of our Institute and our dairy farm: the Ganassina Farm.

SOMETHING ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Our Institute ’Istituto Statale di Istruzione Secondaria Superiore “G. Cantoni” in Treviglio, is situated not far from Milan and in a region historically dedicated to agriculture, with particular attention to cereal and dairy production.  It is one of the oldest schools in the province of Bergamo. It opened in 1887, first as a Technical School and then as an Agricultural High School for the formation of high qualified agriculturists who had given a significant input to the development of agriculture in Lombardy, transforming it into one of the most advanced regions in Italy.

OUR OFFER

The Italian school system is divided into different levels: our school is a high school, so it works with students from 14 to 19 years old, in a curriculum that covers 5 years of study; at the end of the course students can take their national exams and obtain a degree. The degree does not only allow students to enter the job market, but also to go on with their studies in any type of University Course.

Inside our institute students can choose between two different type of courses:

TECHNICAL COURSE

PROFESSIONAL/VOCATIONAL COURSE

Both courses, as said before, last 5 years at the end of which students get a degree and the possibility to go on with their studies at higher level, but the technical course offers a more varied preparation both on vegetable and animal production, while the vocational course is more specialised on labs, vegetable production and forestry.
