Maharashtriya Mandal is the first step of the revolution in the physical education scenario of Maharashtra. This realization embarked the journey of Maharashtriya Mandal - in 1924 with the establishment of Maharashtriya Mandal at Tilak Road. An initial step taken by a great visionary Captain Shivrampant Damle, who nurtured a strong conviction to provide the best of education and physical education to the society, today has resulted in a strong educational realm.
With the sole objective of meeting the long felt need of a physically fit and mentally sound child, which would meet the challenges of the present and the future fitness endeavour. Since then, the Maharashtriya Mandal has grown leaps and bounds and has made a strong impact in the field of education and physical education. With 6 English and Marathi medium schools, 1 Junior College of Commerce and very famous Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Physical Education in the state of Maharashtra covering almost 32 acres of area at Mukundnagar.
Maharashtriya Mandal’s Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Physical Education is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, is accredited by NAAC and is recognized as a Research Centre in physical education. It offers a range of Bachelor’s and Master’s Courses in physical education as also an M. Phil course. It is spread over a sprawling area of 32 acres of land, has the requisite infrastructure and facilities and vast play fields and tracks. All the modern administrative facilities are housed in suitable buildings. The college also has its own hostel and mess facilities. CACPE is a centre for quality physical education, one of its kinds, known and recognized widely across the state of Maharashtra and the country.
We believe that the Physical Education and Sports Program should promote physical activity, should teach skills as well as form or change behaviour, and should be able to influence health and wellbeing across the life span.
Sports is an endeavour where special skills are required to excel and very few children can achieve the skills required; where as in fitness competition, anyone can participate and perform better as per their ability.
For this, Pune needs a revolution and here we are with the solution – “Obstyrace”, an exciting interschool Obstacle Race. The unique thing about this race is that it’s not just a normal obstacle race but it’s a battle of nerves.
