The PEACE camp is the closing event of a trimester exchange programme attended by students from 15-18 years old.
Before returning to their home countries, the participants, who have been hosted in various European countries, meet for the PEACE Camp in Belgium. During the camp, participants get the chance to reflect on and share their experience with the others as well as to explore the concept of Active Global Citizenship in Europe. In addition, participants will spend one day in Brussels to explore the ‘capital of Europe’ and visit the European Parliament. The camp is organised by EFIL with the support of AFS volunteers from all over Europe.
To organise the camp, EFIL relies on the skills and competences of experienced volunteers from our member organisations, from which EFIL recruits the team that manages the event.
The team members are required to attend the online course on active European and Global citizenship and other relevant content related to PEACE that will happen between mid-September and October 2025.
The Teams are expected to co-operate mainly through long-distance communication tools (Slack, Zoom, e-mail, phone, etc.) during the 3 months leading up to the event and including a necessary follow-up stage after the camp. You should be ready to dedicate up to approximately two hours per week for preparation in this period. Be mindful of this when making the decision to apply!
The PEACE Camp 2025 will take place in Destelheide and Hanenbos, Belgium. The volunteer team is required to be present for the whole duration of the event, including 2 days for the preparation before the arrival of participants and 1 evaluation day after the end of the event. The arrival of the volunteer team in Brussels is Friday, 28 November by 12:00 (noon), departure Friday, 5 December after 12:00 (noon).
All justified costs (travel, accommodation and subsistence) related to the volunteer team work and their participation in the PEACE Camp will be covered from the project budget.
All applications must be submitted by filling the online application form by Sunday 10 August 2025 (23:59 CEST).
The selection will be announced in the following weeks. The team will be selected ensuring maximum diversity in terms of origin, gender, age, and experience.
