The International Special Interest Group (SIG) is a forum for members of the Academy of Forensic Nurses (AFN) to collaborate and contribute ideas to promote forensic nursing internationally, to support members in developing forensic practice. share resources, and to provide an international voice to AFN education and policy development. Members of the International SIG must be members of AFN- international scholarships are available on inquiry for health professionals or partners (e.g. physicians, social workers) to cover the cost of AFN registration if needed.
International members get together once a month- on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10 am MST/12 noon EST (7 pm UK; 8 pm Switzerland/Germany/Africa).
The meetings are held via Google Meet :
You have to have a gmail account to participate (free). All meetings are held in English but the Google Meet platform has a feature to translate closed captions- while not always accurate they do improve communication to some extent.
