Pre-production skills such as project initiation, planning and review - understanding the process of an IT media project: feasibility study, mood boards, script writing, storyboard creation and other planning techniques, then moving to testing & reviewing.
The basics of digital graphics editing for the creative and digital media sector. Students will learn where and why digital graphics are used and what techniques are involved in their creation. This unit will develop learners’ understanding of the client brief, time frames, deadlines and preparation techniques as part of the planning and creation process.
The purpose of digital video products and where they are used. Be able to plan a digital video sequence, create and edit a digital video sequence and review the final video sequence against a specific brief.
During Year 10 you will learn about pre production skills and be given the tools and understanding to complete two coursework units along with the theory to support them by December of Y11 (R094, R098)
In year 11 you will prepare for the theory exam to be taken in the summer. (R093)
Your coursework will be marked by your teachers and then the exam board will ask to see a sample of your work. The exam board (OCR) will examine the work to ensure that it has been marked to the appropriate standard.
Each unit (R093, R094, R098) comprise 1/3 of the overall mark
In almost any profession that you can think of, working with digital media will play a part. The Cambridge National in Creative iMedia equips students with the wide range of knowledge and skills needed to work in the creative digital media sector. They start at pre-production and develop their skills through practical assignments as they create final multimedia products.
