Instrument Supplies
Each instrument has supplies that go along with it that need to be stocked and kept in its case. Here is a list of items needed for each instrument. They can all be purchased at a local music store such as Bertrand’s Music in store or online at https://bertrandsmusicrentals.com/c-224-band-accessories.aspx
Flutes:
Polishing cloth
Swab
Clarinets and Alto Saxophones:
Reeds: size 2.5. Preferred brands are Vandoren and Rico. Students should have a minimum of 3 reeds that they rotate through at all times.
Cork Grease
Neck Strap (saxes only).
Trumpets/ Baritones:
Valve oil. The valves of the trumpet dry out over time and need to be lubricated. Only use valve oil specific to musical instruments!
Tuning Slide Grease
Trombones:
Slide Lubricant. This comes in a few different forms from cream, to spray. Be sure to use Trombone slide specific lubricant, as it is different from tuning slide grease. Yamaha is the preferred brand.

If a student is unable to rent an instrument for any reason, a limited number of instruments are available to borrow through AEA on a first come first serve basis. Please reach out to Mr. Klein tklein@aeacs.org
