Red Bridge Road Bridge Replacement
Project & Schedule Updates
Project Overview
Red Bridge was built in 1915 by the Canton Bridge Co. The bridge consists of three 85ft pony-truss spans supported by concrete abutments and intermediate piers. Red Bridge spans over Bull Creek, renowned for being one of the most pristine creeks in the State of Missouri. In addition, the bridge is a gateway for the Mark Twain National Forest which runs along the east side of Bull Creek.
The proposed structure is anticipated to be a three-span concrete structure approximately 300ft in length. In the process of designing the replacement structure, as many of the existing aspects of the trusses will be included in the new bridge as possible to keep the aesthetics of the historic bridge ingrained in the community.
