Pulse is a steady beat like a ticking clock or your heartbeat. It can be measured in time by counting the number of beats per minute (BPM).
Rhythm is the pattern of long and short sounds as you move through the song.
Write a description on the word rhythm and pulse using your own words.

Rhythm is written using notes that have a specific value - for example 1 beat. This is so that the performer knows exactly how to play the rhythm to the music. Some performers do not use written music, but a lot of performers do. Most musicians will talk about rhythm using words too. The words and the notes match up.

Whole Note = 4 beats
Half Note = 2 beats
Quarter Note = 1 beat
Half Note = 1/2 beat
Whole Note = 4 Beats
Half Note = 2 Beats
Quarter Note = 1 Beat
Eighth Note = 1/2 Beat
As well as the words whole notes, half notes etc, there is also an Italian word for each symbol. This is because a lot of music is written with Italian words
