The video itself is the 7th episode in my 'Rebuilding the National Rail' series on a game called NIMBY Rails, which in itself is all about building railway networks on the Earth map. In the video, you can see I place everything from the main terminus platforms at London Victoria Station, working down to East Croydon, and finally scheduling the services and seeing how much revenue it makes in its first day of running.
This Gatwick Express video currently stands as my most long-form video on YouTube, whilst it's the 3rd most viewed including YouTube Shorts. (22,200; 15,300; 10,600). In its first fortnight, the video had generated 10,100 views, taking the channel from just under 90,000 views to over 100,000 views overnight; including a subscription boost from 500 to 2,500!
These two videos are my magnum opus when it comes to branching out of my comfort zone. I grew up as one of the quiet kids who kept to themselves, but creating content on gaming events such as EGX and Insomnia helped boost my confidence when it comes to recording out in public.
I have linked 4 of my short-form content that I have produced and made. The first video ("I Hate When My Customers Do This") was a clip from one of my Supermarket Simulator livestreams on Twitch that produced a funny piece of content. I had uploaded this to Instagram (4.2k views), TikTok (20.7k views) and is currently my most viewed YT Short (22k).
The second video ("How Did I Survive That?") is one of my normal short-form pieces, also originating from my livestreams. This clip did quite average on my channel, with Instagram at 1.6k views, TikTok at 700 and YouTube Shorts at just under 1,000.
Now we have a more promotional short, comprising of footage from my House Flipper Remastered Collection Demo stream, which was then turned into a full YouTube video. This clip is an edited piece that entices people to watch it if they have played the original House Flipper game before; and features a CTA to watch the full video.
The last video "Come with me to see Christian Gates" is my most recent short-form video and the one of its kind from me. This concert vlog pushed me out of my comfort zone to record out in public, and in the venue, and to piece together a really strong FOMO video. The video did wonderfully on TikTok (1.7k views with 100 likes), and even warranted in a like, comment, repost and even a follow back from the artist himself.
