Computer vision is the area of study that focuses on mimicking the complex human vision system and enabling computers to identify and process objects in images and videos in a fashion similar to the human way. The innovations in deep learning and neural networks and advances in artificial intelligence has enabled giant leaps in the field so that in certain detection and labelling jobs they are superior to humans. The field can find its application in variety of areas like self-driving cars, facial recognition, augmented and virtual reality, health technology and surveillance, to name a few.

Signal processing is a branch of study that models and analyzes data representations of physical events. This area of study can poetically claim to be located at the heart of our modern world, powering today’s entertainment and tomorrow’s technology. It enhances our ability to communicate and share information and is essentially the science behind our digital lives. The applications of signal processing are pervasive and include medical signal processing, multimedia systems, pattern recognition, cellular communication, financial data forecasting, artificial intelligence, decision making, adaptive network management, radar control systems, search engines and many more.
