Instructions for Reviewers

Reviewers for The Adelphi Advocate are asked to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Addresses a subject matter that is of importance to the field of social work

  • Is original in thought and/or research

  • Makes an important contribution to the knowledge base of social workers

  • Is relevant to the mission of the Journal of The Advocate Social Work

  • Remains clear in its focus

  • Is written at a sufficiently high level for publication

  • Accomplishes the goals and/or intentions the author sets

  • Uses Relevant and/or contemporary literature

  • Is reasonable in length

  • Has clearly interpretable tables and figures

  • Provides an adequate rationale for the study

  • Presents a clear conceptual model or framework to support the research study

  • Adequately reviews the current literature

  • Presents clear and concise research questions or aims

  • Clearly documents in sufficient detail the methodological procedures used
