Assignments
The assignments this fall will require students to use Web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Firefox and MS Internet Explorer, as well as other online applications. Students will also need accessories such as NotePad or any similar text editor. The online applications are available through your Adelphi Gmail account. Your personal computers running Windows will have at least one Web browser installed on it. The computers on campus will also have this software. If you are using a MacIntosh computer, check with the University Desk (516-877-3340) if you need help identifying the browser and/or text editor on your computer.
One should expect to spend approximately 3 hours outside class working on assignments for this class.
Grading
Discussion forum entries and most regular assignments are graded on a basis of √+ (exceeds assignment specifications, counted as 10 out of 10), √ (meets assignment specifications, counted as 9 out of 10), and √- (is deficient and counted as 7 out of 10). Work with grades of √- can be resubmitted for regrading within two days, excluding Saturday and Sunday).

Attendance The following is the Adelphi University General Attendance Policy:
Only students who are registered for courses, and whose name appears on the Official Class Roster may attend courses at the University. Adelphi students make a commitment to be active participants in their educational program; class attendance is an integral part of this commitment. Attendance requirements for each course will be announced by the faculty member at the beginning of each term. Students are expected to be present promptly at the beginning of each class period, unless prevented by illness or by other compelling cause. In the event of such absence, students may request that faculty members be notified by the Office of Academic Services and Retention. Students are responsible for completing course work missed through absences.
The expectation is that students will be active daily in the various activities of the course during the week. Lectures will be available as one or more videos on Moodle which you are expected to view and take the exams for it. Each lecture exam will be available at any time between 11:00AM and 11:59PM. You will have 20 minutes to complete the 10 questions; if you start the exam after 11:39PM, you will not get the full 20 minutes. After each video, you will be required to make an entry in the discussion forum for the lecture. There will be a question to answer. The Forum will close on its due date by 10:00PM. There will be “hands-on” work throughout the session. Shorter assignments will be due the day after they are assigned. The due dates for major projects will be posted.
Failure to submit these on time (without contacting me in advance for an extension AND being granted that extension) will result in a zero for the assignment,
