A curriculum is a structure or an outline of concepts that schools must follow to provide quality education for their students' learning plans. The Philippine Curriculum has developed its system from the Pre-Spanish era to the present, which is the 21st Century.
The goal of the English curriculum is to help students gain literacy skills that will help them learn, understand, and appreciate the English language, the most extensively used language in the world. The primary goal of the English language curriculum for general education is to help students enhance their communication skills by exercising their listening, speaking, reading, writing, and linguistic knowledge (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar). All communication is based on language, which also serves as the primary tool for thought. Language, learning, and thinking are all interconnected. As future teachers, we are encouraged to adjust, given that we are now practicing the "new normal" due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The traditional school setting had been changed to cater to the health and safety of the learners, teaching, and non-teaching staff. Our ways of instruction may have been hindered, but our passion for delivering quality education to our learners surpasses all.
With this Electronic Manual (E-Manual), you will be able to appreciate the Philippine Curriculum, most especially the English Curriculum, where you can understand and value the Philippine Curriculum Development.
