In partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF), Class 16-5166 of Ateneo de Davao University successfully launched its Social Love initiative to support the team's educational objective in conservation. The proponents desire to raise awareness among the general public, especially the younger generations, of the importance of saving our country’s endangered national bird, the Philippine Eagle.

The social love initiative aims to disseminate information and facts about the Philippine Eagle's condition, hoping to spark interest in helping the foundation.

The class launched the Facebook page on the 11th of October 2022 after a series of collaborative work and extensive meetings.

Seven groups actively participated in the project to live out and promote environmental stewardship.

In connection, a mission that Ateneo imparts to its students is participating in reconciling humanity with the environment, and it protects and promotes the environment as "our common home."

Although eagles are a protected species, it is still threatened by various factors, so to help them, it is our responsibility to convey and educate others concerning the situation of these eagles.

Class 16-5166 Project Head Kissy Barrion said, “Since the campaign became a class project, it really tested our cooperation and socialization. We had two activities: online posting and an online campaign, and thankfully, everyone participated well. We are also glad that the launch of our page was successful. We are actually surprised that our page reached 2000+ engagements; it was kind of out of our expectations, and that is why I am thankful for the class participation for letting this happen. With this project, we hope to disseminate information to young viewers and attract young entrepreneurs so that our partner, the Philippine Eagle Foundation, will be more recognized and receive help. As an Atenean, it is an honor to help this kind of foundation because it benefits the present and our future.”

Through this combined effort, the class hopes to develop a long-term awareness and advocacy plan for the Philippine Eagles. Similarly, the class hope and pray that by the end of the implementation, they will have effectively promulgated their advocacy plan to raise awareness of the need to conserve the Eagles across social media platforms such as Facebook.

Here are some of the notable works of each group:

Group 7

As seen above, each group demonstrated its passion for conserving the species through creativity.

Each of the seven groups is assigned to different topics for a less-time consuming process.

The program's Facebook page reached 184 likes, 6,253 reaches, and 2,446 engagements, a remarkable feat for Class 16-5166.

The posters and infographics had a huge impact, attracting more attention to people about the status of the Philippine Eagle.

The online campaign webinar, Don't Touch Our Birdie: Ang Paglipad, was held on October 20, 2022, as part of the project's objective to reach out and socialize with its audience.

There are a total of seven breakout rooms. The participants were asked to join their assigned breakout rooms and share their insights about the program, which seven student facilitators supervise.

One participant said, "The program is informative and left a positive and life-changing impact on the audience."

A total of 16 participants actively engaged in the webinar's interactive quiz and were given prizes for those who aced the quiz.

As for attendance, the participants were asked to answer an evaluation form regarding the "Don't Touch Our Birdie" program.

The responses to evaluation forms indicate that the webinar is a complete success, winning the hearts of the audience and promoting environmental awareness.

Class 16-5166 expresses its gratitude to their Class Formator, Ms. Precious Kyrie Undag, and Project Head, Ms. Kissy Barrion, for the successful project.

The increased funds provide a helping hand to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the Philippine Eagle Foundation.

Any donation or funds raised in the campaign will be donated to the Philippine Eagle Foundation. This increases the effectiveness of information about the Philippine Eagle, expanding information on using sustainable forest resources to gain vast recovery of the Philippine eagles and their habitat.
