Now in its 5th year, the HLP Speech and debate program give students the opportunity to grow and learn, and to give them skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
In 2024 the district wide program returned from the National Tournament with 3 National finalists and the most students advancing to elimination round competition in its history.

The program is open to students in grades 5 through 12.
The Hacienda La Puente Speech and debate program offers a variety of events and activities for everyone.
Students learn fundamentals of public speaking and how to build confidence. Students explore a variety of different speeches to expand and build their creativity.
