Building a base of summer mileage is crucial to developing strength and endurance for 5k racing and can significantly improve your performance during the season.Â
Starting with fewer miles and then gradually increasing the mileage to a sustainable but effective level is a delicate, but necessary, process that all cross country athletes should consider over the summer.
Coach Goeken and Coach Tate will work with athletes who intend to run cross country in the fall by providing customized summer running plans so athletes' bodies will be ready to compete and do their best during the season. Summer training will include optional team bonding opportunities for athletes to stay in touch and keep each other accountable.
