Dear Mountain View Families,
A huge thank you to all the teachers, staff, and amazing volunteers who helped make our Miles for Mountain View Fun Run such a big success! From setting up, tearing down, and cheering on runners to handing out snacks and keeping everything organized, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks to all of you, we crushed our fundraising goal of $16,050. Thank you for helping Mountain View stay active, healthy, and full of school spirit while raising money for our school.
Now that the Fun Run is over, our annual Halloween drive is underway. Mountain View PTO is collecting both candy and non-food treats to pass out at Trick or Treat Street on October 25. The classroom with the most candy will win a prize! Please help us by bringing your donations to your homeroom class.
I hope you all enjoy your Fall Break. :)
With gratitude,
Peggy Heath
Mountain View Principal

Introducing Mountain View’s Wake Up and Walk Club!
We’re excited to launch a brand-new morning walking and running club for all students and families. Starting the day with movement helps us wake up our brains, boost focus, build healthy habits and have fun with friends before school.
There is no sign-up required, just show up dressed for the weather and ready to run or walk for about 20 minutes. Here is what you need to know:
WHEN- Friday mornings at 7:15am
WHERE- Start at the baseball field on the south side of the school
FAMILIES-You are encouraged to participate but you are also welcome to drop your student off early as there will be certified staff monitoring the club.
This club will be weather dependent and families will be notified the day before if the club is NOT happening.
Let’s get out there and walk or run!
Our Students Deserve Better
Throughout the country, schools are seeing a growing mental health crisis, and our district is no exception – nearly 27% of our high school students report poor mental health. School-based mental health professionals remove barriers to care by providing support in familiar settings. This allows for early intervention and promotes overall student well-being.
We want to invest in our students’ mental health, but we need more funding to do so. In November, voters will have the opportunity to pass a mill levy override (MLO) that would secure the funding necessary to add mental health professionals in our schools. Learn more.

Mountain View Elementary
Veteran’s Day Breakfast and Parade
Tuesday, November 11, 8:00am
If you have a family member who is a veteran, your child may invite them for coffee and donuts, followed by a Veteran's Appreciation Parade down Mountain View's hallways.
Mountain View is proud to be a Let Grow school!
What a start to the school year with last month’s activity, “Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone”! As of last week, 116 Mountain View students turned in their September Let Grow reflection leaf. Way to go!
Now it’s time for your child to stretch themselves further. This month, your child will choose an activity that has them “spreading their wings” by extending or building upon what they tried out in their September Let Grow activity. For example, if last month your child chose to make their own breakfast, Spreading Your Wings might look like making breakfast for their siblings or the whole family, or making their own lunch for at least three days in a row (or maybe even planning dinner, writing the shopping list, and buying the groceries needed!).
