Ms. Langdon's Classroom Blog

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-- that is the goal of true education." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

About our purpose...

My goal is to help facilitate a classroom of learners that leave eighth grade feeling empowered and prepared because of the skills they have acquired. My hope is for all students to be able to think, act, reason, and problem solve for themselves.

About our content...

Language arts is simply that: the art and craft of our language, both written and spoken. In this class, we will work to perfect our skills as readers, writers, researchers, speakers, listeners, and critical thinkers.

About your teacher...

Hello! My name is Ms. Langdon and I am excited to be your 8th grade Language Arts teacher! This year is the beginning of my 11th year teaching eighth grade and I absolutely love it! I am a hard worker and critical thinker-- and will expect the same from you-- but I also love to laugh and have a good time. I am fluent in both sarcasm and "dad jokes," so bring your A-game.

When I'm not teaching, I like going on adventures as much as I like being a homebody. I love being outdoors, playing sports, and socializing with close friends and family. I'm a kickboxer, I'm obsessed with true crime and murder mysteries (creepy, I know), and reading non-fiction books about psychology, criminology, philosophy, religion, and social justice. I love Christmas, coffee, chocolate cake, animals, nature, and using my creativity and imagination in new ways.

I live with my partner, Paul and 3 "bonus sons." We also have a pet pig named Elloise, a dog, Roo, and a cat named Sushi. Life keeps me busy and fulfilled in so many ways. I am grateful for every day, and I'm grateful to be able to learn and grow with you this year!
