About Ms. Bynarowicz

Hi! I've been teaching at Legacy HS since 2002. Before then, I taught in California--specifically the Bay Area, for seven years. While California was incredibly fun, I love the beauty of Colorado and the friendly people.

I am a former National Board Certified Teacher in English/Language Arts, and I was recognized as being an Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars.  Furthermore, I received the NSHSS TOP TEN CLAES NOBEL EDUCATORS OF THE YEAR FOR 2012 award--what an honor! I also have had the pleasure of being an AP Reader and leader for the AP Literature exam for the past thirteen years. As crazy as it sounds, reading and scoring the AP Lit. exam essays is actually fun, and I find it quite interesting to see how the AP Lit. exam is made, tested, and scored.  I have been lucky enough to score all three types of AP Literature exam questions.  I am also an AP Literature mentor, which means I get to collaborate and support other AP Literature teachers across the nation.

In my fitness life, I enjoy teaching group exercise classes for Vasa Fitness and Chuze Fitness, paddleboarding, and spending time exploring the fabulous Colorado wilderness.

We welcomed a Doberman/Great Pyrenees mix to our family in late February 2020.  Bode Bandit Bynarowicz is quite sassy and a lot of fun.   He's a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life!
