Important AP Information

***2020 AP Exam Update***

Please be sure you have checked both your email and AP Classroom for important updates to the 2020 AP World History exam. The Exam date will by May 21st. The exam has been changed to a single 45 minute session comprising a single Document Based Question (DBQ). This was done to mitigate issues caused by school closures nationally due to COVID-19.

STUDENTS: Please be sure to check Google Classroom regularly for updates, review materials, and preperation activities.

The above resources are recommend for the 2019-20 school year. The first text, 5 Steps to a 5, is a review source. It includes outlines, review questions, samples of the writing assignments, and practices test. This is by no means the only AP review guide, though it comes highly recommended. The second text, AP World History: An Essential Coursebook, was used by last years Advanced World Studies instructors to great effect. I will be recommending sections of this text to be read in conjunction with lessons and classroom activities. We do have a limited number of copies.

GIVEN THE FACT THAT THE AP CURRICULUM HAS CHANGED, YOU MIGHT FIND IT ADVANTAGEOUS TO WAIT TO BUY A BOOK (NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING ONE). NEITHER BOOK IS REQUIRED, AND THERE ARE MANY FREE, REPUTABLE MATERIALS FROM THE COLLEGE BOARD THAT EVERY STUDENT WILL HAVE ACCESS TOO.
