MERGE was born out of the idea of 2 students in 2019. Ali Driggers and Brayden Chiles didn't see a need to be connected with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). They didn't want a club that was exclusive to either Christians or athletes. The FCA organization didn't really provide any support to Legacy.  Instead, Ali and Brayden wanted a club where conversations around faith could be more interactive and fun for both those curious about faith and those who already have a personal Christian faith. They chose the name MERGE standing for Mercy, Eternity, Relationships, Grace and Exploring faith. For the next 3 years Samuel Law and/or Joshua Abbink led the group to challenge students to live out their faith and share the love of Jesus with others. Last year Xander Hawkins and Owen Bacon became out new students leaders. This year our students wanted to broaden the group and choose to rename MERGE to have a clearer name that needed no explanation. The students chose the name Walk with Jesus.
