"Looking towards tomorrow with intelligence, innovation, and creativity."
Legacy 2000 is designed for students who have an interest and ability in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). This program focuses on the tangible and intangible skills that professionals in these fields of study will need.
Legacy 2000 (L2k) provides students with a unique approach to STEM concepts. Students focus on technical writing, research, public speaking, and networking, all in an environment of rigorous expectations and professionalism. Most topics studied are student-driven and based on personal or career interests.
L2k students go on to complete a 20-hour job shadow during their junior year and a 40-hour internship during their senior year in a field in which the students have an interest.
This is a program at Legacy High School in Broomfield Colorado, specifically for students who have an interest in any STEM-related field. Founded with the school in 2000, those that are graduates of the Legacy 2000 program have skills and experiences that set them apart from their peers. They gain multiple real-world experiences in their future field of study. Along with these experiences, a graduate has skills in leadership, technology, and public speaking that colleges and employers are looking for.
