College & Career Readiness Standards

Students must demonstrate college and career readiness in Mathematics and English by achieving a minimum score or grade in at least ONE assessment demonstration. This is not required to be the same for both subjects.

Of all the different options available to students, the SAT is the one option that all Legacy students will attempt in April of their junior year. Students need to score at least a 500 in Mathematics and 470 in English to meet the benchmark requirements. The PSAT 9, PSAT 10, and PSAT can be predictors of how a student might score on the SAT. ACT WorkKeys is a three part exam that assesses the students skills in the areas of computer skills, mathematics, and literacy. Testings occurs most Wednesdays after school at Legacy. This is currently the one exam that is offered in a language other than English -- Spanish. For more information, click here (or here for Spanish).

Students must pass all three exams in order to qualify and meet both benchmarks.

English: Human Geography, Language & Composition, Literature & Composition, Psychology, US Government & Politics, US History, World History

Math: Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, Precalculus, Statistics

The ASVAB is a three-hour exam that is offered twice each school year at Legacy. This is usually in November and February. Students who score at least a 31 on the Armed Forces Qualification Test meet requirements for both English and Math.

Math: Accounting Principles, MAT 1240 Math for Liberal Arts

Capstone is a semester-long course offered to junior and senior students. The Capstone class is an interest-based class devised around passion-project learning. Capstone is a multifaceted class that allows for students to demonstrate postsecondary readiness by showcasing skills directly related to a students’ postsecondary career, academic, and/or personal goals. Students demonstrate investigative, leadership, inquiry, collaboration and communication skills through the process of exploring their Identity and Belonging, Global Citizenship, School Success, and Post-Secondary Readiness.

Future Forward offers many options for Industry Certificates. Click here for more information. The only option available through a course at Legacy is the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Course. Industry Certificates are often not guaranteed and require a certain examination score or number of hours of experience.
