🎨 About Ms. Daniels
I grew up in Acushnet and have been teaching art in Acushnet Public Schools for about 30 years. I graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art and The Art of Education University with a Master's Degree in Art Education. I also have National Board Certification (NBPTS) in Art. As an artist, I have illustrated 6 children's books including my own "Floyd" series.
My favorite things to teach about are famous artists and art history. My favorite art supplies are watercolor pencils and Model Magic Clay. When I am not in school, I love to illustrate books, draw and paint, sing, read, do yoga, work in my garden, and go to concerts and museums. To see some of my art, feel free to visit my art studio web page!
I started taking my first art lessons when I was about 10 years old, went to college for art, and still like to study new things even today. My best advice for my students is to practice drawing all the time. It’s the basis for expressing yourself and planning art works. Having a sketch book around so you can draw when you are inspired is the first step.
I hope you love art class as much as I do and learn a little, too! Have a great year!
