Exhibition is now LIVE! Please give generous growth mindset feedback for our Eagles' continuous growth.
Will humans rule computers or will they rule us?
This session, the Middle School Eagles dove deep into that question, learning about history of computers & technology through Socratic Discussions and movies like The Imitation Game! We also mentored and facilitated the ES Eagles, planning and executing interactive games to teach them about some components of programming (e.g. variables, conditions, algorithms).
For this Exhibition, we are showcasing the apps we built via Thunkable, a coding software. We followed an introductory course and used the resources provided by Thunkable to program and design a fully-functioning app! We hope you enjoy interacting with our apps; and please leave us any questions/feedback in the form below .
Enjoy!
A note about the apps:
The MS will be displaying apps that we built using Thunkable, a programming platform. Unfortunately, there are a few constraints with Thunkable when it comes to viewing the app: anyone who wants to view the app must have a Thunkable account. We are asking for you help to:
1. Sign up to Thunkable, a free coding platform, to view our apps. We understand that it's a hassle, but we would really appreciate your help to see what we've been working on for the past six weeks :)
2. Provide feedback in the Feedback section of the MS exhibition page. Any constructive criticism would be super helpful to help us learn and grow.
3. Please use a web browser (on a PC) to view the apps as Thunkable works best there
App: Cheqlist, a checklist.
Reflection: I found this sprint really fun despite being stuck at home for 6 weeks. There were times where I almost smashed my computer but I managed to complete my app. I hope you enjoy!
App: Recall, a spaced repetition learning app.
Genre: Commentary on Climate Change + US 2020 Elections
Reflection: The content of this session was very challenging, from planning lessons for the ES to learning a whole new programming language + having to do all that remotely! I was definitely pushed out of my comfort zone and grew as a person throughout the past six weeks.
App: Acton Quiz
If the first link doesn't work
Reflection: I struggled a lot this session as coding definitely isn't my strong suit. I retried multiple times as the project didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be. Technically this doesn't count as an app but I wanted to showcase some of my coding instead of not participating in exhibition. Enjoy :)
App: Halcyon Breather Tool, A mental health app
Reflection: I had fun making this app when I knew what I was doing code-wise. I had a few mishaps along the way and had to condense my original idea into what it is now, but it ended up how I wanted it to in the end. My goal was to make a functioning yet aesthetically pleasing app. Enjoy.
