Parent Communication

Slack

We use an app called Slack as the primary method for communicating at Acton Academy East Valley.  We use Slack to communicate school-wide announcements, individual messages from or to parents, and parent to parent communication. 

You can sign up for Slack with this special invite link. You can download Slack to a phone or computer here: https://slack.com/downloads 

We recommend parents download Slack to their phones and they turn on notifications. We will do our best to respect your time and send only items of importance. If you choose not to use Slack, you will miss very important information.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, please call Joe directly at 208-949-374 eight or Emily at 707-972-885 seven and send a message on Slack.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Drop off is between 8am and 8:30am. Pick up will start at 3:15pm.

We're located at 22019 E. Cloud Rd. in Queen Creek (about a 1/2 mile east of Ellsworth and 1/2 mile west of Schnepf Farms)

For drop off and pick up, please enter the west gate and pull forward on the circle drive. When exiting, please exit through the east gate (see the green arrows in the picture below). If you are planning on staying feel free to park in the areas outlined in blue. We kindly ask that you avoid using 220th Place (the road to our east with the red x's) for parking as it is a private drive. We will open the gates at 7:45am until 8:50am and again at 2:55pm until 3:30pm. If you need to enter the campus and the gates are closed, please see the message in Slack with the gate code.

Supplies

Each learner in Discovery, Adventure, and Launchpad will need a personal chromebook, we also invite them to bring a pair of headphones if they would like. We prefer that learners use chromebooks as they seemlessly connect with all of our tools and filtering systems. If you child is planning on using a non-chromebook computer, it must be approved by a guide.

Tuition and the onboarding fee cover all other expenses including field trips, supplies, and materials.
