GCSE English and maths exams – prepare to succeed
All full-time learning programmes at Activate Learning include support for students who need to improve their GCSE English and maths.
Classes are provided across the year which aim to help our you to prepare to succeed in the summer exams.
English and maths are essential life skills and learners will need a grade 4 or higher in order to progress to the next stage of their education.
As part of the preparation, we are promoting the dates of the exams in May and June as early as possible so you have plenty of time to prepare and ensure the dates are in your diaries.
This year all exams will take place at 9am on the following dates:
· Tuesday 21 May –Maths (non-calculator) Foundation Tier
· Tuesday 4 June – English Language Paper 1 – Explorations in creative reading and writing
· Thursday 6 June – Maths (calculator) Foundation Tier
· Thursday 7 June – English Language Paper 2 – Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives
· Tuesday 11 June – Maths (calculator) Foundation Tier
Postcards with the above dates will be sent to you via your teachers, with locations of the exams will be communicated via the Exams Team in due course.
Last year, 1,083 students achieved a grade 4 or higher for the first time, this year that could be you!
