Elsa Tsakiroglou has been teaching Academic English Skills in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences since 2014. Additionally, she has been an English Tutor at the Learning Hub of Bissell Library, providing academic support to students across a wide range of disciplines and levels of study. She is currently doing her doctorate in TESOL at the University of St Andrews. Her research interests focus on how literature can enhance language learning and foster greater learner engagement and intercultural competence.
Elsa completed her BA (Hons) degree in English Literature with Spanish at the University of Hertfordshire and continued her studies with an MSc in TESOL and CALL at the University of Stirling. After her BA and MSc degrees, she completed a PGCE in Secondary English at the Institute of Education, University of London. The same year, she was awarded with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) by TTA (Teacher Training Agency, UK).
