Meet Mrs. Alfonso:

My name is Yelena Febles Alfonso (Mrs. Alfonso) I am a Spanish Teacher. I have a Master's degree in Continuing Education in Spanish-American Literature and its Application to Teaching. I obtained my Temporal Educator Certificate in world language-Spanish last year.  This is my 3rd year as a teacher. It's a privilege to be part of the Special Area of the ACSMAS and a member of the Tigers family! I am so excited to share a wonderful year with everyone. My goal for this school year is to share my love for the Spanish language with my students.

Meet Coach Monteagudo

My name is Jose Monteagudo and I teach Physical Education K-5. I graduated with m Bachelors from Florida International University with a degree in Recreation and Sport Management. In my free time I like to go to the gym, exercise, play sports, hangout with friends/family and go to the beach. This is my 7th year teaching and 2nd year in Academir. I am beyond excited to begin this school year and meet all of the new students.

Meet Mr. Cabrera:

Hello. My name is Alejandro Cabrera, and I hold a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. This is my sixth year in education, and I’m excited to begin another amazing school year. I am passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that help students grow both academically and personally.

In addition to teaching, I lead our Basketball and LEGO Clubs, where students have opportunities to build teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills outside the classroom. I look forward to partnering with our students and families to make this a year filled with learning, growth, and fun. Here's to a fantastic school year.

Meet Ms. Evans:

Hello! My name is Camillia Evans, and I am excited to be entering my fifth year as a music teacher and eight year teaching. I am passionate about creating a classroom where every student feels encouraged to explore music, express themselves creatively, and build confidence through singing, movement, rhythm, and performance.

I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Educational Administration and Leadership. I am also currently pursuing my Doctorate in Higher Education, reflecting my commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence.

I believe music is a powerful way to inspire creativity, teamwork, and confidence while supporting students’ overall academic and personal growth. My goal is to create an engaging, positive learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and excited to discover the joy of music. I look forward to partnering with families to make this a wonderful year of learning and musical exploration.

Meet Mrs. Borges:

Mrs. Anett Borges-Bishop earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Miami International University of Art & Design. With a lifelong passion for both art and education, she knew she wanted to combine her creative talents with her desire to inspire young learners.

Mrs. Borges-Bishop began her educational career in a private school setting, where she co-taught second grade and Exceptional Student Education (ESE). During this time, she incorporated weekly art lessons into the ESE classroom, providing students with meaningful opportunities to express themselves creatively while building confidence through the arts. This experience confirmed her calling to work with children and helped shape her student-centered approach to teaching.

Mrs. Borges-Bishop believes that every child is an artist with unique talents waiting to be discovered. Her classroom is a welcoming, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express themselves with confidence. Through lessons focused on the Elements of Art, Principles of Design, art history, and a variety of artistic media and techniques, she strives to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

She values the strong partnerships formed between school and home and believes that open communication with families is essential to student success. Above all, she is committed to helping every student feel supported, inspired, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
