We Are Committed to Success for All Students
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive School Counseling program that supports the academic, personal, social, and post-secondary planning needs of all students. We are masters-level trained School Counselors that maintain current licensure and credentials to meet the ever-changing needs of our students.
SCHOOL COUNSELOR VS. GUIDANCE COUNSELOR
IN 1990, The American School Counseling Association (ASCA) issued an official statement calling on the profession to change the title to “school counselor” rather than the previous title of “guidance counselor.”
WHY THE TITLE CHANGE?
The title “guidance counselor” no longer encompassed the broad scope of work that was done by the professionals in the school. We manage and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program to support the social-emotional, academic, and post-secondary success of each student. We follow the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success.
