Classes
Kindergarten through third grade classes come to the library each week for a 45 minute "specialist" time. We focus on building a love of reading, fostering creativity, collaboration, and developing research skills. 4th and 5th grades visit the library flexibly and have the opportunity to participate in Battle of the Books.
Sarah Mlynowski, Best Wishes - grades 2 & 3
Hope Larson visited 3rd grade and spoke about her work creating comics and adapting A Wrinkle In Time into a graphic novel.
Author Visits
We welcomed five guest authors to our school this year through a partnership with Malaprop's Bookstore!
Sheila Turnage, Island of Spies - grades 4 & 5
Jorge Redmond (Black Boy, Black Boy) and Allan Wolf (The Day the Universe Exploded My Head) visited during Read Across America week and presented to all classes K-5.
