Spring 2018

A lot is going on in our class and at the school. We are so excited to work in the garden every week and very glad to help build our cob pizza oven.

We are working hard on reading and writing. And learning our teen numbers in math. We continue to review counting and snap words frequently.

So glad to have this class together and happy to spend these last couple of months together working hard, learning alot and having fun.

November/December 2017

Busy month of fun. The big news is our awesome gingerbread house of the Three Little Pigs. With Ms. Lolly's help, we madea 2nd prize winning (in the children's category) for the Grove Park Inn's contest. We are so proud.

We are still learning letters and sounds and starting to read words in books. Our writing is so strong. In math we are learning about shapes and still counting orally and things we find.

We appreciate the help we receive from moms and grandmoms. It's a fun place, come in and visit us!

October 2017

Hooray for fall and the cool weather and fun activities we have planned.

This month we will visit the Blue Ridge Parkway for the first of 3 visits. Our visits are seasonal and specifically we learn about changes in the forest due to seasons. We will also visit an apple orchard and finally we will walk to the public library dressed as our favorite book characters.

I will need lots of parents and grandparents support this month to make all this fun safe and realistic.

Thanks so much.

September, 2017

We have had a great start to our year. The class has 17 students and Ms. Keena and I have been so impressed with how hard they work and how well they play and learn together. We have started math by counting and exploring manipulatives. In Fundations we are learning the "sky line" letters, t, b, and f. We have started reading and writing workshops. It's all been fun. We have met all our specialists and checked out a book from the library. Looking forward to a great first whole month together.
