The 2020-21 school year is here! On behalf of the Ira B. Jones staff, I extend a warm welcome to our new students and families and a warm welcome back to our students and families returning to our school. Despite an alternative start to this school year, we are excited to reunite with our school community virtually.

COVID-19 has brought many changes to our communities, affecting how we live, work, and interact. But throughout these changes, one thing has stayed constant: Our determination to serve our students, families, and the Ira B. Jones community.

We will start the school year with all instruction for students delivered remotely. We will take both an asynchronous and synchronous approach to remote learning. Using these approaches means that although classroom teachers will make lessons to share with students to do on their own time, they will also plan daily for their students to log onto their devices simultaneously. We understand this may not always happen; therefore, you need to let your child's teacher know if they can not join a session. During these sessions, teachers will deliver core instruction and provide feedback to students. Students will work independently and in small groups, connect with the other students in their class, and have an opportunity to attend a special class (i.e., music, art, pe, etc.).
