School Leadership
In February, Google Vids was released and Mr. Emry capitalized on its ease of use. He created a program for a team of 5th graders to work daily on creating a morning announcement video for the following day. After several cycles of this team, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with many people remarking on how much it has helped build community across the school.
Mr. Emry also continued to serve on the school's cabinet committe with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Coach. This team helped address issues across the school and plan for deeper implementation of district and school initiatives.
Technology Leadership
In December and January, Mr. Emry spent time trying to find an alternative for the district's digital sign solution, which was being discontinued. Not finding any affordable solutions, he created his own system to easily schedule content for signs and shared it with the rest of the schools in the district.
Class Library Leadership
Ms. Hendrix collaborated with classroom teachers to purchase new titles for K-5 classroom libraries with a focus on adding more diverse titles to each classroom library. We also began rotating a diverse collection of picture books in our office lobby for students and families to read while waiting in the office.
