All fourth and fifth graders must take Star Reading at BOY, MOY and EOY. 

BOY: September 21

MOY: February 2

EOY window:  May 2 - 6 (precise date to be determined)

Retests are essentially a misadministration and authorization must come through Central Office. Possible reasons for a retest:

• Illness

• Significant distraction in the environment

NOT an acceptable reason:

• Performance-based (didn’t do well)

Procedure - Click Resume Later option, email/call Jo Landreth and she will document in a tracker. We will need full student name, grade, test administrator, test, and a brief description of why retest is necessary.

WAIT for confirmation from Mrs. Landreth before restarting the test for the student.

Extended Time: Each question is time, and the time allotted depends on the level of difficulty of the question. Extended time is an on/off feature and will be set by admin per the IEP/504. 

Multiple Testing Sessions: Students can pause the assessment upon a teacher’s direction if the test is to occur in multiple sessions.

Reports can be found in two ways:

1. After logging in, click on the Star Reading icon. From there, a menu of reports will become available.

2. After logging in, click on the Reports tab in the tool bar, a menu of reports will become available.
