During our first season, we streamed Rocket League matches on Coach Brockett’s YouTube channel, where we averaged about 14 live viewers per game. Our current audience includes Asheville High students, parents, and faculty—and as word spreads, we’re starting to see more excitement and curiosity from the wider school community.
Next season, we plan to expand our streaming capabilities to include Nintendo Switch games and explore concurrent streaming to both YouTube and Twitch to increase accessibility. Our in-school promotion will also grow: matches will be featured in the Student News broadcast, shown on digital hallway and office screens, and included in the weekly Athletics Announcements from Principal Edwards.
To reach beyond the school walls, we will promote upcoming matches and highlights through local Reddit threads and community news outlets. We’re also developing a system to post short highlight clips on YouTube Shorts, with the goal of repurposing that content for TikTok and Instagram Reels. This will allow us to spotlight student achievement and give local fans a reason to tune in.
While our digital footprint is still growing, we’re building momentum. As more students discover the team and attend matches in person, the energy in our space is contagious—players feel seen, celebrated, and connected. We believe this visibility is a key part of helping students build confidence and pride—and it also means sponsors have the opportunity to be part of a rising local story.
We also welcome in-kind donations of equipment, food, clothing, or services! We love partnering with Asheville businesses, and we’re happy to find creative ways to recognize your support. If you’re interested in helping provide our student-athletes with valuable resources, let’s talk about how we can promote your business as part of our team community.
