Connect your device to "ACS-BYOT", then provide your ACS username and password (Not your email). What happens next depends on the type of device you are using. In general, you will need to accept our wireless certificate and continue on until you are connected to the wireless network.
Sign into the Web Filter. Once connected to the wireless network, you can open a web browser to access the internet. We filter all internet content; you will need to enter your email address and password to sign in to the web filter (Z-Scaler)
Install Z-Scaler Root Certificate. Our web filter is called Z-Scaler. To protect our students, we employ SSL inspection (excluding banking data, etc). For the filter to work properly, you must install the Z-Scaler root security certificate on your BYOT device. The root certificate allows our Z-Scaler filter to interpret encrypted data transmission between the computer and a web site, assuring us that students are surfing the web safely (and not hiding their activity or avoiding the filter). Z-Scaler only filters BYOT devices while on campus. No software is installed on your BYOT device, no data is collected from your computer and ACS does not use off-site monitoring.
While these steps are somewhat tedious, many personal technology devices allow you to save the settings, so you won't have to do this very often.
