Online Dictionaries and Study Resources:
The Latin Lexicon: Great dictionary, it has Latin to English, English to Latin, a word study tool, a paradigm tool, etc.
Latin is Simple: Excellent, but a bit odd. It's from a German team and they do things a bit different there. Otherwise, it has a decent sentence analyzer. Trainer is good, but that's where you run into the oddities.
Whitaker's Words: A powerful tool for upper level Latin. Better than a dictionary, it can parse all possible forms.
Perseus Digital Library: A must have source for upper level Latin. Contains almost all the Greek and Latin texts you'll ever need. Also has a word study tool imbedded in the text so you can learn about a word's grammar while reading.
Logeion: A lot like Whitaker's, but gives some really interesting information on usage and frequency.
Salve! Nomen mihi est Adam Tufts, et si hoc legere potes, satis eruditionis habes.
I've been with MUHS since 2015 and I have three additional years' experience in an alternative education setting, as a substitute and as a Latin tutor. The recent pandemic tried to throw us, but I’m not a stranger to odd learning environments. I once taught Latin in a yurt with ducks and chickens wandering through!
In 2011 I graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in Latin and Classics with a specialized study in Roman religion. I have always been interested in language and linguistics (I studied French for 6 years in middle and high school), but I have traveled a long way to get here after spending time in the military and afterwards as an engineer of shipboard electrical systems.
Currently, this site is a resource to find class syllabus and course criteria. Day to day information can be found on the Daily Agenda and our Google Classrooms (students will have access to these as they join the class, parents can get access to the Classroom, but you'll only get weekly reports).
