Athens State University Community Choir

The Athens State University Community Choir fulfills a need for musical expression in our community and gives members the opportunity to share vocal music with our community and surrounding areas.

ASUCC Aims

1. Impact our community in a meaningful way.

2. Bring diverse people together with a common aim.

3. To build new relationships and get to know other people from the community.

4. Provide an environment to increase individual and group musical  and performance skills.

5. Provide members a means for self-expression.

6. Explore a variety of musical compositions.

7. Promote a sense of unity and a healthy social experience.

8. Allows for personal growth and achievement as a responsible member of a performing group.

Membership

The Athens State University Community Choir consists of volunteers who have shown an interest in increasing their musical and performance skills.  Currently, there is not an audition process or a membership fee.

Music Director, Teresa Edwards

Teresa Edwards is the Choir Director and Class Piano Instructor at Athens High School. This school year begins her twenty-fifth year as a music educator.  In addition to teaching, Teresa is the Contemporary Worship Leader at Hartselle First Methodist Church.
