The PBL framework mandates students to take three of their four core classes at ARS.
Advanced Placement (AP) courses receive an additional 1.0 weight to GPA.
Currently, all AP courses are offered through an online program, ACCESS.
The cost to take an AP course is typically around $100. That price is set by College Board.
Once student successfully passes the AP class they are awarded only high school credit.
At the end of each AP course, there is a required AP Exam. If a student does not take the AP Exam, they do not get the additional weight on their GPA.
The exam dates are set by College Board and cannot change and may be outside a student’s pathway time.
The score on that AP exam will determine if the student is awarded college credit. This varies from college to college. Click here to learn more.
