Welcome!

Reading is such an important criterion for success. Through MTA* (Multisensory Teaching Approach), my hope is to create lifelong learners and readers by fostering a reading toolbox of the rules for identifying letters, knowing their varying sounds, and the rules for putting them together. English can be tricky, yet knowing its rules makes reading and spelling much easier!

By building a solid foundation, each and every student can a become strong, skilled reader at his/her own pace.

About me

First off, I am obviously an animal lover. My favorite animals are elephants. My husband took me to an elephant sanctuary on our honeymoon, and that was easily one of my favorite days EVER! We have two beautiful children that make us strive to be better people every day.

I love to read, especially Discworld, spend time with family and friends, binge watch my favorite shows, Dr. Pepper, and travel to new places.

I was raised in Rockport and am an RFHS graduate! I attended TAMUCC and graduated with a Bachelor's in English.

This is my sixth year of teaching, but my first at the high school level. I am eager to meet everyone, get to know you, and learn what your favorite stories are!
