President Trump announced the nomination of Cristian Stevens to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. In 2021, Stevens was appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals – Eastern District. Before that, he clerked in the Eighth Circuit and worked at several St. Louis law firms. Stevens was a federal prosecutor for 15 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, where he led the investigation into the shooting of Michael Brown by a police officer.
A Conservative Missouri Legal Figure
Before serving as a judge for the Missouri Court of Appeals – Eastern District, Stevens worked as a First Assistant Attorney General of Missouri and worked in Big Law.
Stevens led the 2014 federal investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
Stevens is an active member of the Federalist Society and has spoken at their events in recent years.
