Course Description
AP Language and Composition is a college-level course teaching students to become A) skilled
writers using sophisticated rhetorical strategies within their writing, and B) capable of
meaningful analysis of a given text. This will be accomplished by studying the art of rhetoric
through readings, which will require students to read critically, think analytically, and
communicate clearly. In addition to the readings, students will hone their writing skills by
composing numerous writings in various rhetorical modes. The course is constructed according
to the current AP English Course Description guidelines.
